Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 June 2026

Arc is built privacy-first, for Indian schools and the families who trust them. This policy explains what we collect and how we protect it — in plain language.

1. Who we are

Arc ("Arc", "we", "us" or "our") provides a school management and parent-communication platform used by schools across India and the parents, guardians and staff associated with those schools. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.

In most cases, the school is the "data fiduciary" (the party that decides why and how data is processed) and Arc acts as a "data processor" handling information on the school's instructions. Where we determine the purpose of processing ourselves, we act as the data fiduciary for that information.

2. Your data stays in India

All personal information processed through Arc is stored on servers located in India (Amazon Web Services, Mumbai region). Your school's data does not leave the country in the ordinary course of providing the service. Information is encrypted in transit and at rest.

3. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information, depending on how you use Arc:

  • School information: school name, address, contact details, branding and configuration set up by the school.
  • Staff information: names, roles, email addresses, phone numbers and login credentials of teachers and administrators.
  • Parent and guardian information: names, phone numbers, email addresses and relationship to the student.
  • Student information provided by the school: name, class/section, roll number, attendance, fee status, academic records, remarks and similar school records.
  • Usage and device information: app version, device type, log data, and basic analytics used to keep Arc reliable and secure.
  • Communications: messages and updates sent through Arc, and any correspondence you have with our support team.

4. Children's and students' data

Arc is used by schools to manage records about their students, including minors. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children. Student information is provided and controlled by the school, which is responsible for obtaining any consent required from parents or guardians under applicable law.

We treat student data with heightened care: it is accessible only to the school staff the school authorises and the linked parents or guardians, and it is never sold or used for advertising.

5. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate and maintain the Arc platform for your school.
  • Deliver announcements, attendance, fee, calendar and diary updates to the right parents and staff.
  • Send important notifications, including via WhatsApp, where the school or you have enabled this.
  • Provide customer support and training.
  • Keep Arc secure, prevent abuse, and diagnose and fix technical issues.
  • Improve our features and reliability through aggregated, non-identifying analytics.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

6. We do not sell your data

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We do not use student or parent data for third-party advertising. Arc's business is the subscription paid by schools — not your data.

7. When we share information

We share information only in limited circumstances:

  • With your school and its authorised staff, as part of normal use of Arc.
  • With service providers (such as our cloud hosting and messaging partners) who process data on our behalf under appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.
  • Where required by law, regulation, legal process or a valid government request.
  • To protect the rights, safety and security of users, the public, or Arc.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition or reorganisation, subject to this Policy.

8. Security

We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and the principle of least privilege so that only authorised staff can access data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work continually to safeguard your information.

9. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as the school maintains an active account, and as needed to provide the service. When a school ends its relationship with Arc, we delete or anonymise associated personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law. Schools may request export or deletion of their data at any time.

10. Your rights and choices

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, update or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Because schools control most data on Arc, please direct requests about student or family records to your school in the first instance; we will support the school in responding. You may also contact us directly using the details below.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify schools. Your continued use of Arc after an update means you accept the revised policy.

12. Contact us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how your information is handled, contact us at team@myarc.in or +91 92702 79110.
